Former ARCH ENEMY, FIREWIND Members Perform OZZY, DIO, SCORPIONS Classics In Sweden (Video)

July 6, 2014

Fan-filmed video footage of METAL GODS performing cover versions of metal classics from OZZY OSBOURNE, DIO and SCORPIONS on July 4 at James Rockbar in Halmstad, Sweden can be seen below.

METAL GODS is:

Apollo Papathanasio (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, FIREWIND) - Vocals
Chris Amott (ARCH ENEMY) - Guitar
Ludwig Witt (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, GRAND MAGUS) - Drums
Pär Wallmark (LAST TRIBE) – Bass

Amott's band ARMAGEDDON will release a new studio album, "Captivity & Devourment", later in the year. The group is based out of New York City and is rounded out by Matt Hallquist on lead vocals, Joey Concepcion on guitar, Sara Claudius on bass and Márton Veress on drums.

Amott in March 2012 issued a statement explaining that he left ARCH ENEMY to pursue his solo career. He said, "I'm gonna continue to be very active in music, working with all kinds of styles — this does not rule out metal."

Papathanasio decided to leave FIREWIND at the end of 2012. He has since been replaced by Kelly Sundown Carpenter (ADAGIO, BEYOND TWILIGHT) as session frontman for all 2013 live activities.

Papathanasio is still a member of SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, the band led by Amott's brother Michael (guitar),who continues to tour and record with ARCH ENEMY.
